CFDA Pledges Commitment to U.N.’s 10 Principles

February 27, 2019

As acknowledgement of CFDA’s ongoing commitment to further our industry’s path to impactful change, we recently joined United Nations’ Global Compact CSR Initiative that includes a consortium of more than 12,000 organizations from 140 countries.

In a commitment letter to the U.N., the President and CEO Steven Kolb pledged our continued goals striving to provide education, mentorship, and inspire change-making thought-leadership throughout our membership and industry.

There are four pillars within the 10 principles: Human Rights, Labor, Environment, and Anti Corruption. They, along with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS), serve as universally-adopted guiding principles.

This spring, we will be offering workshops to CFDA + Lexus Fashion* Initiative participants as well as CFDA members via Network as well as a Sustainable Apparel Coalition Workshop with a view to the future of fashion.

Our membership to both organizations is key in advocating for relevant tools and resources for our CFDA community.
