Civic responsibility is an important pillar of the CFDA. Our Members demonstrate this through their passion for and commitment to causes important to them. Case in point: this Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington. Several CFDA Members will participate in the march, led by Rachel Comey, who distributed a letter to the CFDA Membership mobilizing designers to join her. Comey is also subsidizing employees to attend the march as well as donate proceeds that day to Planned Parenthood. Of her participation, she said “It is important to stand up for our rights and the rights of others.”
Other CFDA Members supporting the march include Mara Hoffman, Maria Cornejo, and Pamela Love.
While the CFDA maintains a non-partisan stance, we champion our Members. This Saturday, they will use fashion as a tool to mobilize and create change. And that is inspiring in and of itself.
