Morgane Le Fay’s philosophy is inspired by SoHo in New York, where the brand was founded in 1982. More specifically, the neighborhood’s legacy of artists and creative thinkers inform designer Liliana Casabal – an inspiration that is kindred in spirit to all the creatives who provide the foundation of Hollywood’s entertainment industry. Timed to our new CFDA Loves the Red Carpet shop at Fred Segal on Sunset Boulevard, we asked Casabal about the Awards season, and whom she would love to dress for the red carpet.

What do you love the most about the Awards season?

I love that Awards season is a celebration of the arts.

Looking back, which is your all-time favorite red carpet moment and what do you love about it?

I don’t have one particular favorite moment.

This awards season, who is the one celebrity you think would look amazing in your designs?

The two actresses that I would want to dress most this year are Sally Hawkins and Meryl Streep

What is the favorite item from your collection in the CFDA Shop? What was the inspiration behind this particular look and is there a special story behind it?

My favorite look from the CFDA shop would have to be the Cosmos gown. The inspiration for this gown was very organic. It actually took shape from another design during a fitting.
