CFDA and Suntchi, with offices in Shanghai, Tokyo and New York, signed an exclusive 5-year strategic partnership to create the first gateway connecting China’s premier business network and marketing giant’s branding platform with U.S.-based fashion brands and designers, providing new opportunities for our 500-plus Members.

“By connecting two powerhouse continents, with fashion brand management, this strategic partnership marks the beginning of a new era for American fashion companies desiring to expand into China and vice versa,” said Paul Fang, Founder and CEO of Suntchi. “We take great pride in branding and marketing new and established designers, identifying cultural trends and increasing market share. It is an honor to announce our long-awaited partnership with the CFDA, which is certain to create massive opportunity for American designers, many of whom require our Super IP+ integration platform to operate in China. Thousands of fashion & lifestyle companies can now connect to create new consumer scenarios and consumption patterns, combining entertainment, art, and fashion to prompt China’s consumer adoption.”

Through the partnership, CFDA Members will now have unrestricted access to the Chinese market.

As part of the partnership, Suntchi will meet with various CFDA Members throughout the year, specifically those who need investment and are interested in gaining entry into international retail markets. CFDA designers will be able to learn about opportunities that they may not have sought out for themselves.

Suntchi will also host annual meetings and events in China and in the U.S. to create opportunities for CFDA designers to collaborate with Chinese designers and Chinese brands, meet brand licensing agents with respect to the Chinese market, and meet with Chinese investors, which is especially critical for smaller brands who need the investment.

Suntchi will create a website to promote CFDA Members in China in order to familiarize the Chinese market to American fashion designers.   It will provide CFDA Members with opportunities to enter the Chinese market  and subsequently help them set up an e-commerce business in China.

Each year the partnership will focus on a different pillar of American fashion. This year, it will focus on education, with Suntchi supporting CFDA+ and emerging design talent.

Suntchi will also conduct thought-leader panels with both students and the CFDA Membership.

“Partnering with Suntchi aligns with our mission to strengthen the impact of American fashion in the global economy,” said Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA. “Suntchi is well established and uniquely positioned to offer tremendous opportunity and exposure for our members to their extensive network of business partners in China.”
