As CFDA approaches the end of the year, we decided to look back on our top-ranking Instagram posts of 2017.

Among the most -liked were beautiful Hailee Steinfeld wearing a lavender hue Vera Wang gown on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. The young actress was followed closely by our official voting announcement for the CFDA Fashion Awards. Also in the top posts: Anna Wintour at the CFDA Fashion Awards; Heidi Klum and Zac Posen arriving at The Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom that night holding hands, and our Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg with Wintour at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund gala dinner.

Our top performer, however, was also our most talked-about (for better or for worse): a sketch of incoming First Lady Melania Trump in a Ralph Lauren ensemble to the presidential inauguration. The post proved to be a highly controversial one with our followers, with as many critics as there were supporters among the nearly 500 comments. All of this goes to show that the most digitally-engaging posts are often also the most polarizing.

On that note, we can’t wait to see our Instagram successes continue in 2018!
