“Everybody talks about being disruptive,” CFDA Chairman Diane von Furstenberg told the crowd at the New York Edition hotel Tuesday night. “No one can actually symbolize disruption better than Business of Fashion. Business of Fashion is provocative. It is disruptive. It is fresh, it is intelligent and it always somehow triggers your interest.”
Over 200 guests came out to celebrate the forthcoming launch of the third annual #BoF500 List, a multi-channel initiative exploring 500 who shape the global fashion industry. The cocktail was hosted by the CFDA, von Furstenberg (just two days after her NYFW : Women’s runway show) and Imran Amed, BoF’s founder and editor in chief.
Specifically, the event celebrated the U.S.-based names on the upcoming #Bof500 List, which will be unveiled in its entirety on Sept. 22. Included on the list are CFDA Members Paul Andrew and Greg Chait alongside industry names such as Aimee Song, Amber Venz Box, Caroline Brown, Christina Mercando, Gordon von Steiner, Jessica Diehl, Julie Wainwright, Kate Lanphear, Lucky Blue Smith, Matthew Schneier, Mickey Boardman, Peter Copping and Ron Frasch.
Guests at the party included Ariel Foxman, Andrew Rosen, Caroline Issa, Derek Blasberg, Edward Enninful, Fern Mallis, Joseph Altuzarra, Julie Gilhart, Kristina O’Neill, Linda Fargo, Prabal Gurung, Rebecca Minkoff, Robbie Myers, Thakoon Panichgul, Tim Blanks, Waris Ahluwalia and Yigal Azrouel.
