On Tuesday evening, fashion authority Booth Moore brought the runway back to LA with a launch party for CFDA’s new tome, American Runway: 75 Years of Fashion and the Front Row. Moore penned the historical look at fashion week and fashion shows as they evolved.
“It was great to have the vantage point of living in LA, covering entertainment and Hollywood, and being able to write this book,” said Moore, who serves as The Hollywood Reporter’s Senior Fashion Editor and was previously the fashion critic for the Los Angeles Times. Working on the book, she added, allowed her “to touch on some of the themes of how the shows have become entertainment and celebrity oriented.”
The turnout at the new Fred Segal flagship on Sunset Boulevard – which is also home to the CFDA shop – was strong. CFDA members Michelle Smith, Clare Vivier, Jasmin Shokrian, Brian Wolk, Claude Morais and Raan Parton were joined by Katherine Ross, Eric Buterbaugh, Gelila Puck, George Kotsiopoulos, and more came out, sipped on Kim Crawford wines, and celebrated American Runway.
