Carly Cushnie on Representation

February 17, 2020

Teddy Tinson

“Representation for people of color and for women at the executive and creative director level is crucial. As an industry, we’ve begun to make strides, but there is still a long way to go to set an example for aspiring young talent everywhere. My hope is that the major fashion houses, with the largest influence globally, will begin to place people of color at the helm of their brands – these houses set the tone for the industry as a whole. LVMH made history with Virgil, which has been inspiring for young designers and creatives of color everywhere to see.”
