The countdown to Fashion Month is on—and we’re excited to announce that in this 20th anniversary year the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, the CFDA and Vogue are bringing back Americans in Paris this season.
The designer showroom during Paris Fashion Week provides invaluable global exposure, sales, marketing and media support for designers to expand their respective businesses. Instagram is proud to support the initiative, which marks its eighteenth edition.
“Over the years we’ve come to think of our CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists as an ever growing family—and we’re always happy to bring them back together after they’ve been through the fund,” Anna Wintour, Chief Content Officer, Condé Nast, and Global Editorial Director, Vogue, said. “How wonderful that in this our twentieth year we are able to have some of them showcase their collections in Paris, and give their talents well deserved global attention.”
The participating designers are Alejandra Alonso Rojas (2019 CVFF Finalist); Christopher John Rogers (2019 CVFF Winner); Rachel Scott of Diotima (2023 CVFF Runner-up); Akua Shabaka and Rebecca Henry of House of Aama (2021 CVFF Finalist); Conley Averett of Judy Turner (2022 CVFF Finalist), Kim Shui (2023 CVFF Finalist); Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell of Tanner Fletcher (2023 CVFF Finalist), and Henry Zankov of Zankov (2023 CVFF Runner-up).
“The return of Americans in Paris in the Fashion Fund’s anniversary year underscores the program’s 20-year legacy of supporting designers and their businesses. We are proud to bring this strong alumni group to Paris Fashion Week and provide them with an opportunity to break into new markets and raise their global visibility in celebration of their creative design excellence,” Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, said.
As Eva Chen, Vice President of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram, put it, “Seeing the next generation of fashion designers flourish on Instagram is inspiring—but watching their creations transition from Instagram to reality in Paris is truly special. The new perspectives these designers bring will drive the future of the industry.”
This year, additional support will be provided by Supima, the non-profit brand for American Pima cotton.
The Americans in Paris showroom will kick off with an invite-only cocktail party at a private residence in Paris to celebrate the initiative.
The showroom will be open from Saturday, September 28 – Sunday, September 29, 10am-6pm.
