Today marks the beginning of Black History Month, and this year, CFDA celebrates some of the most powerful and influential Black style moments in fashion history, starting with the ultimate sartorial inspiration: Diana Ross as fashion student-turned-model and designer in the 1975 cult classic Mahogany. Designers have referenced these looks for decades — and for good reason. They’re fabulous. Plus, after all these years, we’re still humming the theme song.
