October 24, 2019

Bergdorf Goodman and Emmy-winning Amazon Original series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel have collaborated to create an immersive pop-up experience and a takeover of the iconic Bergdorf Goodman Fifth Avenue windows.

Through November 2, the eighth floor of the women’s store will house an installation inspired by the show’s third season and the journey the eponymous lead character, Miriam “Midge” Maisel, played by Rachel Brosnahan, takes throughout the new season (slated to debut on December 6) to Miami on her comedy tour.

Emmy-award winning costume designer Donna Zakowska created an exclusive coat inspired by the series, which is now available for sale via an auction on Paddle8. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the CFDA’s Fashion Manufacturing Initiative (FMI), a program that supports NYC fashion manufacturers, including those located in the Garment District.

The one-of-a-kind piece made by Zakowska was debuted at an intimate cocktail event at the BG restaurant on Tuesday with remarks from Zakowska, as well as Darcy Penick of Bergdorf Goodman and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Bites and drinks were passed as guest mingled with cast members Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle and Michael Zegan and traveled up to the eighth floor for photo-ops within the installation.

The Paddle8 auction will end at 6pm EDT on November 2.
