The second floor of Bergdorf Goodman was shrouded in Noir on Wednesday night to celebrate the opening of the specialty store’s latest endeavor. Curated by Linda Fargo, Senior Vice President, Women’s Fashion Director and Store Presentation, the new intimate shop features a wide product range including ready-to-wear, art and home décor – think black Aquazzura boots, Nymphenburg porcelain, and pieces from Alexander Wang, Rick Owens, Olivier Theyskens, and The Row –  all unified by the mystery, strength, and beauty that define the color black.

It only made sense that designer Brandon Maxwell, well known for his glamorous and romantic eveningwear, was in attendance to kick off the opening of the store alongside Fargo. An early supporter of Maxwell’s career (Fargo bought his very first collection, he created updated versions of two popular dresses from his first season.

“Linda is a New York icon,” Maxwell told us. “She embodies New York. She has exquisite taste, and this shop is such a fun experience. It’s chic, joyous, and happy! It’s incredible, and that’s Linda.”
