In celebration of Pride Month, CFDA members Bill Barton and Patty Perreira of Barton Perreira, Blake Kuwahara, and Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi of l.a.Eyeworks united eyewear forces to design limited edition sunglasses to benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Barton Perreira
Perreira’s “frame-within-a-frame” concept is revived in beloved archive styles with vibrant, mirrored rainbow lenses.
“We believe in diversity, equality and inclusivity at Barton Perreira. It’s an honor to collaborate with fellow CFDA eyewear designers to commemorate Pride and support the tremendous work of the Center,” said Patty Perreira, Co-Founder and Designer of Barton Perreira.
Blake Kuwahara
Kuwahara tapped into his signature Chambers frame to create a colorful rendition in custom-made acetate.
“I think the timing couldn’t be more appropriate to celebrate not only our LGBTQ community, but also what we all hope will be the end of the pandemic,” said Blake Kuwahara.
l.a.Eyeworks
An l.a.Eyeworks brand favorite, the chunky Amortini frame, takes on a new rainbow spin in crystal acetate and blue topaz sun lenses.
“This is such an important time to be emphatic in our recognition and support of the spectrum of identities that Pride celebrates.” noted l.a.Eyeworks co-founder/designer Gai Gherardi, “The ‘amor’ in the name of our dedicated frame, AMORTINI, echoes our oft-repeated encouragement to ‘Love One Another.’”
A percentage of the sales will directly benefit the Senior Services programs of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, a nonprofit organization that has been providing programs in health, social services and housing, culture and education, and leadership and advocacy for the LGBT community since 1969.
