“Emily is one of the most talented actresses in the world,” says Tom Ford, Chairman of the CFDA. “Her timeless style and elegance light up any room.”
And on November 10th, she is set to light up the iconic New York venue THE POOL + THE GRILL. That’s because the award-winning actress will serve as the host of the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards.
Blunt is known for memorable performances in such films as The Devil Wears Prada (2006), The Young Victoria (2009), Into the Woods (2014), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), The Girl on the Train (2016), A Quiet Place (2018), and Mary Poppins Returns (2018).
She has won numerous awards, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film for Gideon’s Daughter and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for A Quiet Place.
This year, Blunt starred in Jungle Cruise and in A Quiet Place Part II, both grossing over $100 million at the U.S. box office, a feat that no other leading actor or actress has accomplished since movie theaters reopened.
She has a leading role in The English, an upcoming Western miniseries from writer-director Hugo Blick for the BBC and Amazon.
“I have great admiration for her,” Ford adds, “and I am so happy to have her as the host of this year’s CFDA awards.”
The 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards will be held on November 10th at THE POOL + THE GRILL, the iconic venue housed within the landmark Seagram Building on Park Avenue and produced in accordance with CDC and New York State Health Guidelines.
