The 2020 CFDA Fashion Awards are officially set for Monday, June 8th – and this year, we are excited to announce some big changes to the fashion’s biggest night. The annual event, which is CFDA’s biggest fundraiser, is returning to Celeste Bartos Forum at The New York Public Library. The last time the CFDA Fashion Awards were held at this iconic Manhattan landmark was in 2008.
Under the direction of Chairman Tom Ford, the CFDA is also proud to present new nominee and honoree categories this year, in addition to signature categories.
This year, we introduce two additional nominee categories: International Men’s Designer of the Year and Women’s Designer of the Year. Additionally, the CFDA is adding the Face of the Year and Brand of the Year Awards. Both categories will be open to American or International contenders.
The Positive Change award, meanwhile, has evolved into two Trovas: Environmental Sustainability and Positive Social Influence.
The other categories are:
American Women’s Designer of the Year
American Men’s Designer of the Year
American Accessories Designer of the Year
American Emerging Designer of the Year
Fashion Icon Award
Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard
Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert
Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award
Stay tuned as we reveal more on March 18, 2020.
