The 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards host is here! Joel McHale — American comedian, actor, writer, television producer, and television host known for E! network’s The Soup, NBC’s Community, and, upcoming, his book Thanks for the Money: How to Use My Life Story to Become the Best Joel McHale You Can Be — will host the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards, which are in collaboration with Swarovski, at Hammerstein Ballroom.
“His experience as a host, an actor, a comedian and someone who comes from outside the fashion industry will keep the night lively, topical, and unexpected,” said Steven Kolb, President and Chief Executive Officer of the CFDA.
McHale joins the nominees and honorees at the event, which will also feature live performances by Jennifer Hudson and Michael C. Hall.
Hall, star of Ivo van Hove’s Lazarus, will perform a song to commemorate the late David Bowie, who is receiving the Board of Directors’ Tribute. Tilda Swinton, a style icon in her own right, will accept the award on behalf of Bowie.
Hudson, a Grammy Award-winning recording artist and Academy Award-winning actress, will close the evening with a special performance.
