At the Met Opera, Michael Kors Marks 45 Years with Bravado
February 13, 2026
For the past 45 years, Michael Kors has delivered a vision of New York glamour, first to America and then to the world. To mark the special anniversary, the designer took over the Metropolitan Opera on Thursday evening to show a lineup of looks that he described, per the collection statement, as “urban entrance makers,” “New York chic” and “style that stands the test of time.”
It was fabulous; the essence of “New York City Girl” – perfect for a night out on the town and shown on a super lineup of models culminating with Christy Turlington, who closed the show.
The high wattage front row that included Dakota Fanning, Uma Thurman, Mary J. Blige, Leslie Bibb, Gabrielle Union, Olivia Munn, and Grace Gummer loved it. So did we.
Following the show, guests poured out of the Met and into P.J. Clarke’s to celebrate Michael, with Rufus Wainwright singing “New York State of Mind” for the designer.
It was a New York night to remember.
