Apply Now: CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant

May 28, 2026

We are pleased to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant, an initiative dedicated to supporting and elevating the next generation of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) designers across fashion and accessories.

Running from July 2026 through May 2027, the program will select three emerging AAPI brands to participate in a shared learning experience centered around creativity, cultural exchange, innovation, and long-term business growth. Each selected recipient will receive a $60,000 grant, bespoke mentorship from leaders across design, innovation, retail, and business, and participate in a one-week immersive trip to Seoul, South Korea. The program will culminate in a Spring Cultural Showcase at Genesis House during AAPI Heritage Month, alongside additional CFDA visibility, networking, and industry opportunities.

This year introduces several exciting evolutions to the program. Previously structured as a competitive design challenge, the initiative has been reimagined as a collaborative learning experience that emphasizes mentorship, exchange, and shared growth among the three selected brands. Eligibility has also expanded to include accessory designers, reflecting the breadth of creative talent shaping the future of American fashion.

“Each year, this program continues to demonstrate the power of investing in emerging talent through the lens of culture, creativity, and community,” CFDA CEO and President Steven Kolb said. “The shift towards a more collective model of support — one that recognizes that innovation is not created in isolation — evolves CFDA’s partnership with Genesis House in new and meaningful ways.”

The program will also introduce an annual cultural theme that will serve as a creative throughline across the experience. Rooted in ideas of culture, identity, and transformation, the theme is designed to inspire individual interpretation while creating a cohesive narrative across mentorship, travel, creative development, and the final showcase.

Eligible applicants must identify as Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI), have been in business for a minimum of one year, and maintain a primary business based in the United States. Additional eligibility requirements and application details will be available through the CFDA application portal. Applications are now open and will be accepted until June 24, 2026 at 5PM EST.
