Emerging American designers, take note! The application process for the 2017/2018 International Woolmark Prize is open from now through February 13.
The award honors outstanding achievers in the early stages of their career who have shown promise and dedication in establishing and growing a fashion business. The global initiative identifies the most important menswear and womenswear designers of the future and highlights the modernity of Merino wool within their collections.
Regional finalists in menswear and womenswear will be awarded a cash prize and the opportunity to compete at the international final events in 2018. The global winners will be awarded an additional cash prize, and their winning collections will be sold through a network of leading retail stores including Harvey Nichols, London; David Jones, Sydney; Isetan Mitsukoshi, Tokyo; mytheresa.com; L’Claireur, Paris; Lane Crawford, China; Boon the Shop, South Korea; and The Papilion, Indonesia. Previous CFDA members who won the U.S. prize include Joseph Altuzarra, Tanya Taylor, Siki Im, Rochambeau and Gabriela Hearst. Public School and M. Patmos won the International Woolmark Prize for the 2014/2015 edition.
