An American at Couture

January 23, 2020

Marc Karimzadeh And Nicky Campbell

In the history of the haute couture in Paris, there have been a handful of Americans who made their mark on the City of Light—Mainbocher, Ralph Rucci, and Oscar de la Renta for Balmain. Now, there is a new kid on the couture scene: Daniel Roseberry. On Monday, Roseberry opened the haute couture shows with his second couture collection for Schiaparelli – inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli and her contemporaries like Jean-Michel Frank and Alberto Giacometti . The Dallas native and Thom Browne alum worked this via a mix of elegant daywear and evening looks, some of which explored a more fanciful side to the designer’s oeuvre. Discover the full collection below, and here’s hoping for more Americans at couture!
