What makes a Friend of the CFDA? In short, they must love American fashion and be passionate about philanthropy all while looking to build a community to generate positive change.

Allison Sarofim has all these attributes – and more. On Thursday night, the producer and art collector, who was one of the first to join the Friends of the CFDA invite-only charter, opened the doors to the house she shares with her husband Patrick Seabase to celebrate the CFDA and all CFDA Friends – as well as those who could become friends – in the name of American fashion.

It was a perfect evening – beautifully planned as only a bona fide host like Sarofim could.

“For those of you who know me, I have a passion for fashion,” she told guests including Plum Sykes, Anh Duong, Fabiola Beracasa Beckman, Martha Stewart, Francisco Costa, Tina Leung, Stacey Bendet Eisner, Amy Fine Collins, James Frazier, Alina Cho and Laurence Milstein.

“I love the CFDA and I am honored to be part of it,” she added. “I love hosting you all and hope you all get to know the Friends of the CFDA a little bit more.”

That’s where CFDA CEO Steven Kolb came in. Friends of the CFDA, he explained, is a program to bring together and grow a community of people interested in bringing fashion into the future and supporting the CFDA in its important work in education, diversity, sustainability, and creativity.

“We are very grateful that Allison is hosting us here in her beautiful home,” Kolb said. “She is an inaugural friend of the CFDA, and we appreciate her support. We hope to leave tonight with more friends.”

Arden Wohl, Fairfax Dorn, Cynthia Rowley, Stan Herman, Cathy Ho Lee, Chiun-Kai Shih, Andrew Kwon, Azeeza Khan, Whitney Robinson, Lauren Levison, Dr. Macrene Alexiades, Ezra J. William, King Chong, Yao King, Rrita Rexha, and Daniella Pierson also turned out for the occasion.
