Alina Cho’s Latest Salon Dinner Celebrates Christopher John Rogers

July 23, 2025

Alina Cho sets the bar for chicness, and her salon dinners with Genesis House are no exception. On Tuesday evening, the Friend of the CFDA celebrated Christopher John Rogers, bringing together his community and vibrant technicolor magic to the gorgeous summer affair.

In a world that can be black and white, Rogers, a CFDA member, has become synonymous with color, rainbow, and use of shapes. It’s his unique perspective and vision that won him the American Womenswear Designer of the Year at the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards.

“Here’s the thing about a great designer, they create things you never knew you wanted or needed. They create things you have to have—and that’s the magic of fashion,” Cho said in her toast to Rogers. “The one thing we all do every single day is put on clothes, so why not make it joyful? That’s what Christopher does so well.”

Lindsay Peoples, Amanda Murray, Pam Nasr, Sean Garrette, Jalil Johnson, Jessica Willis, Ena Lee Parker, Vanessa Hong, Laia Garcia-Furtado and José Criales-Unzueta all wore their CJR best and beat any allegations of New Yorkers only wearing all-black outfits.

Cho started the series in 2023 and has since held dinners for former Womenswear Designer of the Year winners Catherine Holstein and Brandon Maxwell, as well as cocktail celebrations for CFDA Fashion Awards Honorees Stuart Vevers and Ruben Toledo.
