Alexandra Grecco Poppy Bridal Spring 2022

For Spring 2022, New York bridal designer Alexandra Grecco was focused on intimacy. After a year of difficulties, the moments marked by joy were the source of inspiration for her latest collection as the country has been turning the corner on the pandemic.

For many of those who made commitments to each other and married this year, ceremonies were smaller and people took a more personal approach. As a brand that caters to a less traditional bride, Grecco delivered offerings from two collections, “Botanica: Part Two” and “Poppy,” to make her feel her most authentic self on her wedding day.

First debuted in October 2020, Botanica’s hand-embroidered gowns illuminated the wonderful reawakening that develops with the arrival of spring: floral motifs woven throughout finishes of opulent silk satins to luxurious silk crepes with the careful balance of minimal and richly embroidered styles the brand is known for.

The debut of her new collection Poppy is an homage to civil ceremonies of years past, drawing inspiration from old black and white photos to reinterpret garments from the 1960s with a new twist for the fashion-forward bride – one who loves to mix-and-match. Separates like blazers, cape-style sheaths, crop tops and accessories like silk hair-sashes and headbands offered the refined, elevated aesthetic of the brand while allowing for a bride’s self-expression to shine through.

“The pieces, alongside our gowns, are sustainably produced in New York City’s Garment District,” Grecco said. “I am so pleased to be able to offer this innovative breadth of silhouettes and look forward to outfitting brides who seek a gown alternative for their wedding day.”
