Alejandra Alonso Rojas is stepping in to the world of bridal. The launch of her debut collection, titled Blank Canvas, offers a fresh take on bridal and eveningwear, inspired by her own grandmother’s journey for the perfect wedding dress.
“In the 1950s, my grandmother fell in love with a black evening gown at the Balenciaga atelier,” the CFDA member shared in her collection notes. “She approached Mr. Balenciaga and asked if he could create the gown for her in ivory. With a few minor adjustments, he made her dream dress a reality.”
She is approaching her own offerings in a similar way, allowing customers to order styles in a broad color palette of solids, brand-signature prints and even custom ones, too. For Rojas, every occasion is unique, and she aims to provide women with the perfect outfit for their individual style and personality.
The 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund alumna has seen growing success with the direct-to-consumer business, hosting private clients at her boutique in New York City’s NoHo neighborhood. Brides-to-be and partygoers alike on the hunt for that perfect dress will have in-person opportunities to shop with the designer herself with only a six-eight week delivery time.
