On Saturday night, after toasting the CFDA Incubator designers at a rooftop cocktail at the W Hollywood, DVF gave a private tour of her “Journey of the Dress” exhibit at LACMA.  Designers listened intently as she walked them through the visual timeline of her journey to becoming one of the most successful American Fashion designers.

“The good thing about getting older is that you can look back on your past. These dresses are my past”, Diane Said.

Los Angeles based CFDA members Greg Chait and Jennifer Meyer joined the tour, and even took a few selfies with the CFDA president.  Another notable attendee was Edie Raymond Locke, the former editor in chief of Mademoiselle, who stated that she had met Diane she was “just a baby running around New York”.

Fun fact: DVF noted that at the height of the wrap dress’s success, she was selling 25,000 units of the dress a week.

DVF’s private tour of “Journey of a Dress” was a jaw-dropping, once in a lifetime, experience that provided CFDA Incubator designers with invaluable insight into Diane’s rise to the top of the Fashion industry.   A number of the designers gushed that the private tour with DVF was the highlight of their LA trip!
