There are clothes, and then there’s fashion. The latter manages to move the needle and readjust the eye to new shapes, proportions, and color play. The A.POTTS aesthetic is fashion, and, to this writer, highly appealing. Aaron Potts continues to amp up his color play, this time dipping into yellow and gray with touches of black and metallic, often layered to stunning effect. Titled Shadowlight, Potts wanted this collection to speak to the “presence within the juxtaposition of light and dark; claiming space within the darkness through lightness and positivity.” He powerfully made the point in a short video around modern dance with a cast in billowing, layered, asymmetric, deconstructed looks. In a word, beautiful.
