i have to admit i was tempted to wear my seersucker for a couple more days through this heat…
i didn’t…
there are some rules that one should never break…
seersucker after labor day is one of them…

though, the summer, for us designers, is usually cut a little short with fashion week right around the corner…
i love this time of year…
we all should love this time of year…
we get to tell another story…
another story that is inspired by our own experience…
a truly unique story…
a story, through our collections, that makes people think…
that makes people talk…
that makes people realize why they live in new york…
your creativity is, and should be, so inspiring to all who get the privilege to witness it…
this is our job…
i want you all to realize the power of your work…
whether on a grand stage or small…

whether they know it or not…
you should approach this collection wanting the world to see how truly unique you are…
how truly unique your story is…
because it is…
no one else can tell your story…
also, don’t care how many people will see it…

important work is never understood or appreciated by all…
but, the people that do are the right people…
the only thing you should care about is loving your work more than anyone else…
and knowing that you have created something that has scared you a bit…
