My Minestrone by Peter Som

Those in need of last minute Thanksgiving recipes need not panic – this holiday’s cooks can go for a five-course meal in style with America’s best fashion designers. “American Fashion Cookbook,”  published by Assouline in 2009, bridges design and dishes. The cookbook details CFDA Members’ favorite recipes with glimpses into why these are so significant to them. Here, CFDA.com selected five Thanksgiving-friendly recipes that will be sure to impress your guests:

The five-course meal begins with a Minestrone soup by Peter Som, which is full of flavor and perfect for the cooler weather. A raw corn salad by Rod Keenan that follows is a great way to spice up a classic Thanksgiving dish. The third course: Carla Westcott’s Sweet Potato Casserole—a quick and simple alternative to standard mashed potatoes. For the entrée, go with Brian Reyes’ Rotisserie chicken, which can easily be substituted with Thanksgiving turkey. Everyone has a sweet tooth –finish off the feast with Cynthia Steffe’s Apple Crisp.

Happy Thanksgiving!
