In recognition of Earth Month, the CFDA hosted a webinar to discuss zero waste design. We invited Shelly Xu, founder and CEO of SXD a New York-based design studio that  partners with brands and designers using design expertise and their proprietary technology to create designs with zero fabric waste, less material consumption, and significant cost savings. Shelly was joined by industry innovation and sustainability expert, James Carnes. James is the former VP of Global Strategy and Sustainability at Adidas and a member of the Board of Advisors at Parley for the Ocean. Xu and Carnes discussed the creative and business opportunities that are enabled by the circular design process of zero waste design and addressed some of the common misconceptions.
