The CFDA is proud to introduce the new Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholars by Design Award.
Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholars by Design Award is a deeply impactful award celebrating diversity, inclusion, and equity within fashion. Two students will be selected as Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholars by Design. Winners will receive a combination of scholarship funding and bespoke mentorship opportunities. This award will power the professional journey of dynamic design talent from entry to exit of education, throughout their four years of study within any fashion design specialization, growing their potential into exemplary agents of change equipped to lead by design into the future.
In support of industry’s transformation towards diversity and equity within design leadership, the Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholars by Design builds an inclusive future, by providing a scholarship specifically for diverse students. By establishing a scholarship fund, Gucci and the CFDA demonstrate a united commitment to education and inclusivity.
Through careful selection led by the CFDA, Gucci and members of Gucci’s Changemakers Council, two recipients will be announced in Spring 2020.
Two selected applicants will be awarded the distinction of Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholars by Design Award; and receive up to $20,000 per year in scholarship funds with eligibility for up to 4 years. Applicants must be seeking to attain an undergraduate {BFA/ BA or equivalent} degree within any specialization of fashion design.
The Gucci Changemakers Council features Antoine Phillips, Bethann Hardison, Brandice Daniel, Brittany Packnett, Cleo Wade, Dapper Dan, Dawinder S. Sidhu, DeRay McKesson, César E. Chávez, Ivy McGregor, June Ambrose, Kimberly Blackwell, Michaela Angela Davis, Naomi Campbell, Renée E. Tirado, Robert Carter, Sara Kozlowski, Will.i.am, Yaseen Eldik, Yasmeen Hassan, and Yvette Noel-Schure.
