Tanner Fletcher is set out to change the bridal market. Designers Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell, who were 2023 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists, unveiled their first official debut wedding collection—though they have been doing custom bridal looks for clients since the brand’s beginnings—with the same ethos in mind: ignore gender labels, uplift personalities and highlight authenticity.
Richie and Kasell designed the collection with a few problems in mind they felt needed to be solved: What about the groom? What about queer celebrants? Why should shopping for wedding looks feel so one-note?
The color palette is anything but optic white. A sea of ivories and off whites are mixed with deep blacks and a touch of baby blue making for a nostalgic nod and your something blue. Among the collection’s standout pieces are a satin ball gown, a 1920s inspired ceremony dress, and fresh takes on tailoring. The collection covers all aspects of wedding from shirting and blouses to cocktail dresses, suiting, dressing robes and ceremony gowns.
“Upon doing research into the bridal industry, the first thing we noticed was endless gender norms. The bride does this, the groom does that. We always say we like to take our customers out of a box rather than put them in one and Tanner Fletcher Weddings is no exception,” Richie said. “Many prospective wedding clients are making their own rules and traditions when it comes to how they celebrate their nuptials. It’s our job to adapt to their needs, allowing them to shine brightly as their authentic selves on such a special day.”
