Jennifer Fisher Launches First Fragrance

April 19, 2022

Esteemed jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher is widening the horizons with the launch of her first fragrance. Called My Scent, it’s been years in the making. Fisher wanted to create a scent that smells exactly the way she wanted.  Using only a blend of pure liquid essential oils, the warm, musky blend is meant to invoke the casual sensuality that has become synonymous with Fisher’s stunning designs. Containing hints of vanilla, Australian sandalwood, Tonka bean, pear and coconut, Fisher fondly describes the scent as “my memories and mood in a bottle. It is the scented armor you will crave daily.”

Best known for her celeb-favored jewelry pieces, fragrance further pushes Fisher into the lifestyle realm. Following her popular JF Kitchen line and on the heels of a successful home decor partnership with CB2, the sky is the limit for the CFDA member. Here, we chatted with Fisher to learn more about how the fragrance came to be.

Congratulations on the launch! Was fragrance always an area you wanted to venture into, or did it happen naturally?

My entire life, people have always asked me about my scent. Whether I’m in an elevator or out to dinner with friends, it’s always been this question of “what are you wearing?” or “who smells like a cookie?” Vanilla has always been my signature scent, but the fragrances I’ve worn over the years were never quite right. Similarly to how my jewelry brand and salts started, when I couldn’t find what I was looking for I made my own. My Scent is a combination of various blends of vanilla I have worn throughout my life matched with a slight hint of coconut as an homage to growing up in Santa Barbara, California. The blend is a nod to my hometown in Montecito growing up around all the surfers and the smell of sex wax. It’s a fond childhood memory that I always wanted to combine to make my perfect scent.

How was the process of creating your first fragrance different from designing jewelry?

Fragrance is a totally different animal in my mind. For me, it was about looking completely into myself for inspiration instead of the outside world which is where I normally look to get inspiration when designing my jewelry. Instead of being inspired by sculpture and architecture, this time I took inspiration from scents that make me feel comfortable and sexy at the same time.

What was the most challenging part?

We were in the final stages of developing our fragrance with Dawn Goldworm, co-founder of 12.29 and Scent for Good, during Covid and I’m sure you can imagine how difficult that made the process. Dawn and I worked closely together prior to the pandemic and had to find a way to work through the challenges the world threw at us, six feet apart. I am proud of the final product. We created the fragrance I had been yearning for.

What was the most fun?

This fragrance design process was something completely new to me. Venturing into something new and learning is always fun for me. I’m grateful that I was able to design and create products during a difficult time that we all faced. The fun really begins now that I can share my signature scent with all our customers and friends.

Tell us about the bottle design! How did you land on a rollerball style?

The fragrance was intentionally designed in a compact glass rollerball. I’m a woman on the move. I run my own business, I am a wife, a mother of two kids, and constantly on-the-go with a busy schedule. No matter where I need to be, I can throw My Scent into my bag and always have it with me.
