CFDA Partners With A.I. Personal Styling Start-up Alta

Have you ever been stuck on what to wear? Well, Alta is here to help—with the help of a little artificial intelligence.

The application, which is powered by over a dozen A.I. models trained by the Alta team, serves as a personal style companion with the mission of helping us discover what to wear and what to buy.” Named after the Latin word for “elevated,” Alta uses A.I.-driven capabilities to optimize your closet and help you shop, ensuring purchases fit seamlessly into your existing wardrobe.

Designers continue leveraging new technologies to innovate on ways consumers experience their clothes (and shopping for them), and the CFDA is partnering with Alta to bring their innovation and advanced technologies to our membership, giving designers the opportunity to engage with a new audience.

“It’s an honor for Alta to launch this partnership with the CFDA,” said founder Jenny Wang, who is a Friend of the CFDA. “We’re excited to be building frontier A.I. models to help empower designers, and reimagining what the future of shopping technology can look like.”

Entrepreneur and supermodel Jasmine Tookes serves as an investor of Alta. As someone constantly on the go, the Victoria’s Secret Angel uses Alta to help her pack and travel the world, and she even as her premium activewear brand Joja onboarded on to the platform.

“Fashion is evolving, and this partnership between Alta and the CFDA is proof of this,” Tookes said. “After over a decade in the industry, I’m excited to be on the Alta cap table, and help build the future of fashion A.I.”
