Catching up with Instagram’s Eva Chen on Americans in Paris

September 29, 2017

Marc Karimzadeh

This Saturday, Eva Chen is co-hosting the CFDA and Vogue cocktail to celebrate our Americans in Paris designers during Paris Fashion Week.  Instagram’s Head of Fashion Partnerships is joined by Karlie Kloss and Vogue’s Mark Holgate at the showroom, and, in anticipation of the party, we checked in with her about the things she loves in the City of Light, her favorite Paris Instagram spots, and why emerging talent is so key.

Eva, what do you love about Paris?

Literally everything: the fashion (from the runway to the street style of everyday Parisians), the food, and obviously the fact that it’s probably the most Instagrammable city in the world.

What’s your favorite thing to Instagram in Paris (not the Eiffel tower)?

Honestly, even the most banal streets of Paris are Instagrammable. The city’s innate, effortless beauty is my favorite thing about it.

What is the first thing you do when you get to Paris? Unpack (I don’t feel settled until I’m fully unpacked) and then get a bowl of udon from Kunitoraya.

What are you looking forward to the most at Saturday’s Americans in Paris cocktail?

It’s always inspiring to be in a room with some of the brightest fashion talents in the world. I look forward to hearing their take on the season so far!

You are a new member of the CVFF Selection Committee—why is emerging talent so important to you?

Evolution is the cornerstone of fashion and the new energy, new ideas, and new perspectives that emerge from CVFF are what will shape the future of the industry.

The Americans in Paris showroom is open from Saturday, September 30-Monday, October 2, 11am-6pm. RSVP: americansinparis@kcdworldwide.co.uk
