At CES 2026, the CFDA hosted a fireside chat exploring how circular design and technology are reshaping the future of fashion. Moderated by Sacha Brown, Senior Director of Professional Development, the conversation featured designer Sami Miró, Founder and Creative Director of Sami Miró Vintage. The CFDA member shared her journey from a background in technology to building a brand rooted in upcycling, zero-waste design, and intentional use of existing materials.
Miró highlighted how circular fashion extends beyond recycling to rethinking systems across a garment’s entire lifecycle, from design and materials to production and consumer engagement. She discussed leveraging tools such as AI, 3D modeling, and blockchain to reduce waste, improve transparency, and scale responsibly, while emphasizing that meaningful change requires global accountability and stronger environmental and labor standards.
The session underscored that innovation, when paired with intention, can drive a more regenerative and equitable fashion industry.
