Previous to COVID-19, SarahSlutsky was getting clients like Maya Hawke, Ella Hunt, Emma Watson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Jessica Williams ready for press appearances and the red carpet. Now, the super stylist finds her days focusing on herself. The former Vogue editor has taken to Instagram to task herself, and her followers, with creative challenges like #RecreateFashionHistory and #30Wears series that keep the act of dressing alive.
See how Slutsky gets ready for the week.
Marc Jacobs mini dress, Another tomorrow tee, Suzanne Kalen and AuRate earrings
“The slip dress over tee look has been a spring staple for years. It’s easy to move around, the silk feels great on my skin and I find throwing a tank or tee underneath takes it from lingerie or even evening to every day.”
Mara Hoffman dress, Gucci sunglasses, Lucia Zolea vintage necklace
“This look was inspired by my #RecreateFashionHistory Series: Marie Helvin by David Bailey for British Vogue, 1975. I love the way this photo just radiates heat. It has all the great summertime vibes of being upstate by pool– a scenario I am craving at this moment.”
Slvrlake denim jeans, Another tomorrow tee, All my grandmothers bracelets
“This is a #30wears look. This is a series I started several years ago in an effort to slow down the fashion cycle, encourage thoughtful purchasing and promote slow fashion (9/30/15 was the first day of my first challenge). Social media can create a stigma around rewearing clothes which is damaging to the psyche and the environment. Right now I am working on 30 looks with 1 pair of jeans from SLVRLAKE Denim.”
Vince slip dress, Joie Sweater
“The weather has been very unpredictable lately and I find myself in a lot of layers. Again, I love a slip dress– or any dress for that matter that has minimal seams and no zipper :-). A cozy sweater thrown over is a very easy solution for me during a day where temperatures range from 40 to 75.”
Toteme dress, Coclico sandals
“I LOVE THIS TOTEME DRESS! Truly, it’s effortless, I feel romantic, it’s a throw on in any situation piece that is just as comfortable as any sweats (I promise– I am not just being a fashion person about this).”
