Tracy Reese Stands With Planned Parenthood

February 24, 2017

Every great project starts with an idea. For the CFDA’s NYFW partnership with Planned Parenthood, the inspiration came at a dinner co-hosted by CFDA Member Tracy Reese and Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards. The topic of conversation among guests, CFDA staff included, was how they could use their public platforms and influence to promote education and support of Planned Parenthood. From there, the pin was born.

Reese played a vital role in its mobilization. “It has been an amazing opportunity to use my voice and to come together with like-minded people to raise awareness about such a vital cause,” she stated. “I hope [Planned Parenthood can] continue to provide life-saving education and healthcare services for every person in need without restriction.”

The support garnered for Planned Parenthood during NYFW was truly inspiring, but just because the season is over, there is still work to be done — work that, as Reese reminds us, can come from small everyday gestures. “We can all be kind, considerate and compassionate. Peace begins in our hearts.”

The pin was deemed the “best new accessory” by many, and Reese has her own special way to style it: “With my stunning pink Planned Parenthood T-shirt, glen plaid pleated trousers, my vintage shearling, silver kicks and a smile!” Fashionable, indeed.
