“The fashion industry has been hit hard,” said Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. After seeing how COVID-19 was impacting the industry at all levels – from stores to supply chain – Wintour and CFDA Chairman Tom Ford took immediate action, transforming the 2020 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund into the “A Common Thread”initiative which raises funds for those fashion businesses impacted by coronavirus and tells their stories at this time of crisis. “Our goal with A Common Thread” said Ford, “is not only to highlight all of the designers we known and love, but to also focus on those individuals who keep our industry running.”
