On Wednesday, Alice + Olivia hosted the most glamorous pajama party of the season complete with gold-flecked champagne and candy coated popcorn. The evening was in celebration of the new Morgan Lane x Alice + Olivia pajama collaboration.

CFDA designers Stacey Bendet and Morgan Curtis first met at a CFDA panel about motherhood in the fashion industry. A second meeting, this time at Alice + Olivia’s headquarters, led to the idea for this partnership.

“When I met Morgan, I was obsessed with all her illustrations and the way she’s branded her pajamas and everything she’s done with them are so cute,” Bendet explained. “So I said, ‘let’s just do a collaboration.’ We incorporated my Stace Face into her Morgan character.”

Both women are inspired by each other’s strong work ethic and boss vibes. They also share a favorite piece in the collection — the printed romper with matching robe.

“You don’t have to take sleepwear too seriously and it can be worn from day to night,” Curtis said. “We wanted it to be really playful, and celebrate girls and women in the industry and our love of fashion. There are a lot of hidden symbols in the pattern, from Stacey’s shoes to my doll character.”

Working with Bendet, Curtis gained valuable knowledge about expanding her international presence and selling on a global scale. She was inspired by Stacey’s relaxed but powerful work ethic.

Bendet, meanwhile, loves the creativity and clear brand focus and hopes to continue to collaborate in the future.
