The Model Alliance is receiving the first Positive Social Influence Award at the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards on November 10th.
Founded by Sara Ziff, the Model Alliance has been at the forefront of creating labor rights protections for models since its inception in 2012 – injecting a labor consciousness into the entire industry as a result. By giving models a voice in their work, the Model Alliance is creating a safer and more respectful work environment, free from harassment and abuse.
In recent weeks, the non-profit’s important work has gained additional visibility when Carré Otis – along with fellow models Jill Dodd, Emily Mott, Ebba Karlsson, Lesa Amoore and Shawna Lee – provided testimony in Paris about the sexual abuse they suffered while working as models. Carla Bruni, Paulina Porizkova, Karen Elson, Tatjana Patitz, and Milla Jovovich were among the women who showed their support.
The CFDA has been a longtime partner and supporter of the important work Sara Ziff is doing on behalf of models worldwide and we are extremely pleased to honor the Model Alliance with the inaugural Positive Social Influence Award.
