Remembering Tina Chow on World AIDS Day

December 1, 2018

Maxwell N. Burnstein

Tina Chow remains a muse well after her death in 1992. Chow broke the mold of being a model with an androgynous look and a distinctly chic fashion sensibility that gave her notoriety.

Under Andy Warhol’s creative consciousness, Chow applied her Eurasian heritage towards jewelry design. Chow’s message of living with HIV/AIDS was powerful. Publicly addressing her diagnoses, the last years of her life were dedicated to philanthropic work. Chow demonstrated how to be an ambassador and engage meaningful change beyond today.

Chow’s influence on fashion lives on. #WorldAidsDay.
