Designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo returned to New York City to unveil his latest collection since his New York Fashion Week debut in February 2017. The Fall-Winter 2023 collection titled “The Closet” presents an introspective conversation with his younger self and attempt to return to the powerful, inquisitive, and childlike relationship with the world of beauty—void of the skepticism that comes with the narrowing hardness of adulthood. The Palomo Spain brand, known for challenging gender conventionalities, played with household items like towels, silk scarves, duvets, and blankets to construct modern interpretations of looks that were once Palomo’s first materials at-hand to express himself through fashion.
