In the ever-changing – and challenging – retail landscape, new and innovative opportunities are key to a designer’s growth, and CFDA’s partnership with Forum, a new fashion retail concept from b8ta, provides just that.
The yearlong program is centered around a curated, rotating retail space that spotlights American creativity in fashion. Located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, the new store kicked
off with the sustainably-minded label Nicholas K from CFDA designer duo Christopher and Nicholas Kunz. Their shop is open now through January 31st.
Other CFDA Members set for residency in 2020 include Pamela Love, Billy Reid, Timo Weiland, Trina Turk, and Mr. Turk
“In the changing retail landscape, technology provides opportunities for our members to reach consumers and grow their businesses in new and innovative ways,” said Ashley-Brooke Sandall, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the CFDA. “The CFDA is excited to partner with b8ta’s pioneering new retail concept Forum.”
Forum is a community-driven fashion and lifestyle retail concept focused on discovery and meaningful engagement, connecting the modern consumer with forward-thinking brands that prioritize quality, design and sustainability.
“Forum aims to help cultivate young and emerging brands that have a unique point of view, and we look forward to working with a range of designers to bring their brands to life in our space,” said Joshua Adam Brueckner, Partnerships Manager for Forum.
Each brand curates their space within the Forum store, and is able to host events that bring their brand ethos to life. Forum also features tech-enabled dressing rooms that adapt to each brand’s look and feel and encourage social sharing.
“Kicking off the CFDA shop with Forum provides an ideal opportunity to expand Nicholas K’s existing retail plans,” Nicholas Kunz said. “We have been looking for our next location and Forum’s innovative retail concept allows us to share our vision in a new market with a novel technology-driven retail experience. This is another great example of the CFDA’s efforts in developing smart partnerships which help brands like ours expand their reach.”
