“Everyone talks about influencers now and I was thinking about my original influencers,” he told Kate Hudson in a joyful car ride documented for the designer’s Instagram. “They were these amazing rulebreakers.”

“Growing up in the 1970s,” he added, “I was inspired by strong, confident women with their own sense of style. Women like Tina Turner, Gloria Steinem, Yoko Ono and Jane Fonda were a huge influence on me. To this day, it’s the women who break the rules and carve their own path that continue to inspire me to this day.”

Cue this collection of cool looks that oozed confidence – terrific coats, tops with car-wash skirts, dresses that showed just the right amount of skin, and strong suits, like the black one on Irina Shayk. The vibe exuded power and influence, just like the designer’s front row – the best of the New York season.
