In today’s digital world where many designers behind fashion’s most prominent houses are themselves influencers – think Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, and Virgil Abloh – one rising star is opting to remain anonymous. Peter Do, one of the 2020 CFDA Emerging Designer of the Year nominees, has sparked immense public interest since dressing the likes of Zendaya and Celine Dion. Despite being one of the most buzzed about brands in the industry, Do remains diligent about keeping the attention away from himself and focused on the clothes. The designer, who cut his teeth working at Celine during the era of Phoebe Philo, knows all too well that a brand is more than just its designer. While the garment label may read Peter Do, the brand is driven by community and comraderie. Before launching his collection, he first reached out to his friends and co-founders Lydia Sukato, Vincent Ho, An Nguyen, and Jessica Wu to help get the business off the ground. Now, the LVMH prize winner is working with his dedicated team to take the business to the next level – on their own terms.
