The Jewish Museum on the Upper East Side is renowned for its captivating exhibition subjects –

Isaac Mizrahi, Leonard Cohen, and, currently, The Sassoons, to name a few – and, of course, its impressive collection of Judaica.

The latter just had a fantastical addition from renowned artist Rachel Feinstein, who, in collaboration with CFDA member Ippolita Rostagno’s brand Ippolita, created a wondrous ring shaped like a castle. The nearly one-foot tall ring is made from sterling silver dipped in 18-karat gold.

Inspired by two historical forms—medieval-style architectural Jewish marriage rings and tower-shaped ceremonial spice containers, both represented in the Jewish Museum’s collection—Feinstein, in collaboration with IPPOLITA, created the “Marriage Ring,” a fantastical ring, almost a foot tall, in the shape of a castle rendered in sterling silver dipped in 18-karat gold.

“I am thrilled to partner with my dear friend Rachel on creating this fantastical ring for The Jewish Museum,” Rostagno said. “Rachel and I have been working in my design studio over the past two years on this project, and to see it come to life and be on display at the museum is very exciting.”

The stunning ring is on display on the museum’s third floor, in the exhibition Scenes from the Collection. While said piece is not for sale, fans of this remarkable collaboration can purchase a ring of four different editions of related rings adapted from the key piece that are for sale: “Talia’s Ring,” a smaller 18-karat gold version of the fantasy for $36,000; “Castle on the Rock” featuring one-of-a kind rings in 18-karat gold with chrysoprase and malachite bases for $18,000; “Fan Castle Ring,” a more minimalist 18-karat gold 3-D variation for $7,200; the style is available $500 in sterling silver.

Last week’s unveiling attracted an artsy scene to the museum, including Feinstein’s husband John Currin, museum director Claudia Gould, Sarah Sze, Cecily Brown, Jessica Craig-Martin, and Maya Lin.

The rings are available for purchase at the Jewish Museum’s Shop, at shop.thejewishmuseum.org, the Ippolita Madison Avenue flagship, IPPOLITA.com, and the Gagosian Shop.
