Fierce competition in the jewelry and fashion industries fuels Michael Saiger, founder of Miansai, and his wife, Rachael Saiger, who serves as Miansai’s fashion director. The pair continually elevates the vision and enduring impact of the brand founded in 2008 and based in Miami.

Making his mark in the men’s jewelry category, Saiger has expanded Miansai’s offerings to include women’s jewelry, fine jewelry, and leather accessories. Beyond broadening the brand’s scope, he has collaborated with creatives such as Everett Williams and Gab Bois, fostering a community of individuals who embody Miansai’s values and its signature minimal yet refined aesthetic.

We checked in with the CFDA member about his brand, partnerships, continued growth and giving back.

How have recent partnerships in art, design, or fashion allowed Miansai to expand its creative reach and attract new audiences? What qualities do you seek in partners to ensure alignment with Miansai’s aesthetic?

With partnerships, we aim to collaborate with individuals and brands who bring a fresh, unique perspective and think outside of the box. Our most recent collaborations with Everett Williams and Gab Bois showcase bold and unique creativity. Everett’s minimal yet refined approach to design was the perfect match for us with his capsule including cactus motifs and colorful stones. Gab’s exploration of bold ideas with creative edge led us to a technology inspired capsule, featuring SIM card bracelets and dual camera signet rings.

What drives Miansai’s ambitious, long-term vision, and where do you find the spark to stay creatively energized and push boundaries?

We are driven to create unique, understated, and elegant designs with elevated aesthetics. Our focus on setting trends and evolving the men’s jewelry space keeps us pushing boundaries- especially since we helped pioneer this category.

What are some of the challenges Miansai faces in global expansion and how do you overcome them while preserving the brand’s core values?

The retail landscape has shifted exponentially over the last decade, driving us to focus on our direct-to-consumer business and freeing us from reliance on department stores or online retailers. This approach gives us the flexibility to move quickly, respond to trends, test new designs, and offer better pricing for our customers.

How does philanthropy fit into your vision for Miansai, and are there specific causes you support to positively impact communities?

My wife is the founder of a nonprofit called Style Saves, which helps communities by offering back to school necessities and programs such as mentorship, where scholarships for high school students are donated. We are an active partner of Style Saves by manufacturing their private label supplies, ensuring that these students have quality clothing, backpacks, and other necessities for a positive school experience.

How do you balance Miansai’s timeless aesthetic with the need to innovate and stay relevant in a competitive market?

We stay true to our core with signature details in our jewelry designs. These timeless elements keep us grounded to what our brand originally stands for, while giving us the freedom to try new ideas and evolve.

How are you incorporating technology in Miansai’s design, production, and customer experience? How does it enhance Miansai’s appeal, and what future tech plans are in place to support global expansion?

We have been using AI for everything from demand planning and advertising to website recommendations and customer service. It is all about improving efficiency through automation, which we’ve embraced for over a decade.
