About two months ago, Alina Cho noticed a chic red Brandon Maxwell number on actress America Ferrara – a look she knew she had to have.

Fast forward and at Tuesday night’s latest installment in the salon dinner series hosted by Cho and Genesis House and celebrating the designer, she sported the exact same look.

“When I asked Brandon, ‘do you think it’s too much for a Tuesday dinner?,’ he said, ‘it’s perfect.’”

It was. So was the chic crowd dining on elegant Korean fare. It included June Ambrose, Maye Musk, Jamie Tisch, Christopher John Rogers, Batsheva Hay, Linda Fargo, Roopal Patel, Robert Burke and George Sotelo,  Marisa Gardini, Claudia Marquez, Christina Grasso, Tenique Bernard, Dave McTague and Brandon Maxwell president Tracy Piazza.

The love for Brandon and his designs was palpable.

“I remember seeing that first collection and thinking to myself, ‘wow, there is something here in the strongest way,’” Cho said. “Nearly a decade later, he’s still making clothes that are memorable, desirable, and wearable. In addition to that, you are a wonderful person. I love that Southern Texas charm that you bring to everything. In an industry that can be cutthroat and tough, you are that same person today that I met all those years ago.”
