Fashion Makes Change (FMC) is the industry’s turnkey solution that delivers on women’s empowerment, education, and climate action in tandem. A project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Fashion Makes Change is “building a community in the fashion industry to drive action on key social and environmental issues related to the business of fashion.”
Today, its first consumer initiative goes live with over 30 participating global brands and retailers, including CFDA members Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation, Gabriela Hearst, Rosie Assoulin and Sarah Flint.
Customers will be invited to round up their purchases to make a donation. Many brands will also be matching funds dedicated to educating and empowering women via Empower@Work, a coalition and joint effort of the United Nations that leverages knowledge, skills and collaboration to drive collective action for the direct benefit of women working in global supply chains.
The first pillar of the program will focus on educating and empowering women in the supply chain to build resilient communities. To donate and learn more, please visit fashionmakeschage.org
