Everything Bridal with Reem Acra

Reem Acra’s exquisite creations are the stuff of bridal dreams. But when it came to her own nuptials, to Dr. Nicolas Tabbal in 2016, she decided against a gown in favor of ready-to-wear for a low-key ceremony at City Hall.

“It took me a while to grasp the fact that I was not going to get married the traditional way, but after all I am not your traditional person,” she told us. “I enjoy much more making beautiful dresses and celebrating the union of two people than trying to figure out what I should wear.”

And that’s exactly what she did. “I honestly feel I celebrate every time I see a bride in my design,” she maintained.

This year will be Acra’s 20th anniversary of making “dreams come true.” But back to her own special day.

“My favorite thing about my wedding day is that I did not have enough time to think,” Acra said. “I had to rush to my office Christmas party.”

As for her advice to all her brides: “Do not think too much. Enjoy the moment of your wedding preparation and celebrate it all.”
